Reception Lighting Basics

Most couples don’t know where to start when it comes to wedding and event  lighting.  We have put some information together to help discover what works for your wedding or event.  Lighting sets the mood of you wedding or event.  For your special weddings day nothing should be left out.  Lighting is part of the décor budget and will enhance any room.  See below for more info on typical lighting projects.  No two lighting jobs are the same so please contact us for your quote. 

Light for the walls and ceiling - Uplighting

This is the most typical type of lighting and comes from either a traditional can light or the newer and greener LED lighting.  If cost is a factor the standard can lighting will create a beautiful look.  The choice of colors is endless but the cost is well worth the look.  Cost start at $500

String and Lantern Lighting - Outdoors

Have an outdoor wedding and wonder what the best way to bring your spaces together?  Try lantern or string lighting.  They are hung from 10 foot poles over and area of the event or the whole event.  Labor is the biggest cost with time to install these.

Light buffets, centerpieces, floral arrangements and bars – Pin Spots

Pin spots are used to light centerpieces, floral arrangements, buffets and, cake tables, or anything of significance.   Hanging pin spots is an art, as you do not want them to shine in guests' eyes. Usually pin spots are used one pin spot for a low centerpiece and two pin spots for a high centerpiece.  

Initials on dance floor or patterns on walls – Monogram and gobo lighting

Looking for that extra touch for your wedding or event.  Add a monogram to the dance floor or patterns on the wall.  It is the little things that bring it all together.
